European Banking System Closure – May 1^st 2025

This year the annual European May Day holiday falls on Thursday May 1^st . All banks including the European Central Bank which operates the banking settlement system across Europe, will be closed. While it is a normal working day in Ireland on that day the European holiday means that electronic payments cannot be made to accounts in Ireland, or across Europe. If you are expecting a Euro payment to your account on this date you may not receive the payment until Friday 2^nd of May.
